1. MELANCHOLY:
2. TANTE
a kind of nervousness or perpetual anxiety, a state of worry where your senses are so heightened that you can feel your own heartbeat.
Tante is the word that I can relate to myself. I easily get nervous and concern about something even before it happens. One of the things that makes me most nervous is exams. I can hear and feel my heart beating while taking exams.
3. Favorite Poem Line
“Melancholy is sadness that has taken on lightness.”
I chose this line because it provides a true description of melancholy. Even though we despise it, we as humans are likely to dwell on subjects such as melancholy. I have come to consider lightness as a value rather than a defect.
4. Ode on Melancholy
"She dwells on Beauty—Beauty that must die" and "[the flower of pleasure is forever] “turning to poison while the bee-mouth sips.” These lines not only clearly show that pleasure and pain are inextricably linked but also help readers understand the true meaning of melancholy and its value.
