"Loneliness is the price we have to pay for being born in this modern age, so full of freedom, independence, and our own egotistical selves" (pg 30, Sensei)
I agree with Sensei's notion of loneliness that loneliness is the price we have to pay in the world, but I also believe that people need to depend on each other and live together.
Social media in our time both connects and isolates people. Due to social media, we can keep in touch with our old friends or friends who live far away. It connects us and helps us maintain the relationships. However, it sometimes isolates us from the society. When you go out to dinner and look around the place, you may see at least 70 percent of the people are on their phones. We spend too much time on social media. Checking social media accounts at inappropriate times will make others feel uncomfortable to reach and talk to us. They may feel they are interrupting us. We are "together" but "alone".
